CREATIVE BLOOM SESSIONS

A guided space to stay engaged in your creative practice and notice what begins to emerge.

Choose Your Path

CREATIVE BLOOM SESSIONS ARE DESIGNED FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE EVER…

  • Minimized yourself in the presence of others.
  • Minimized or completely buried what you actually want for the sake of what you feel you SHOULD want.
  • Learned to make yourself smaller, and abandoning your creativity is one way you shrink.
  • Wished you had time to take an art or dance class, break out your watercolors, play your instrument, or explore any of the creative inclinations you have throughout the day, weeks, months or even YEARS.
  • Felt like you have sacrificed your creative expression for your job, family, or relationship.
  • Felt disconnected from your life, so you question and second guess your every move.
  • Felt like you can’t move freely in your life; you’re walking on eggshells at your job, and in your relationships.
  • Felt like trusting yourself would never be an option; you always defer to outside validation.

You probably already know this: so did I.

I minimized my ideas and creativity for the sake of others or just for energetic self preservation. I constantly wished my day to day could be different. Driving to work I would day dream about missing the exit and going to the nearest park to use my watercolors and enjoy the sun on my face TMI adjacent-I was severely vitamin D deficient because I was inside all day working!---and then immediately got sick to my stomach at the exit before work.

Life was just happening to me, I wasn’t taking action on the things I wanted, or dreamed of having. I had unknowingly allowed others to shape how I viewed myself. I thought this is just how I’m supposed to feel. Satisfaction seemed just out of reach. Internally, I felt shame for wanting more. I felt judged in my relationships for wanting more.

Now, since we love a flower analogy; I didn’t know it at the time, but a seed started to germinate inside of me. Or even like a tulip bulb that goes dormant and then comes above ground in the spring. I couldn’t ignore it anymore, I had to tend to this little bud of self expression that was growing inside of me. That’s where Creative Bloom began.

Being a creativity educator isn’t about teaching you how to paint, draw, or sculpt. It’s about guiding you through your own creative process, sharing practical strategies to help you stay engaged in your creative practice, and exploring what emerges when you give yourself the space to express what’s already inside of you.

As you develop a consistent practice, you’ll begin to notice patterns, clarify what matters to you, reconnect to your desires, and discover new possibilities for how you want to live.

The seven sessions

1Sun

Introduction to the Creative Bloom Practice

I’ll share the story behind the Creative Bloom Practice and introduce you to the framework we’ll use throughout our time together.

We’ll begin exploring how your unique Creative Bloom wants to take shape—what kinds of creative expression you’re drawn toward, what helps you feel engaged, and what environment allows your creativity to flourish.

Your sessions can become dedicated creative-expression time, or we can work together to create a practice that fits naturally into your existing life.

2Seed

Uncovering Your Unique Practice

We’ll focus on the way you naturally express yourself. What brings you to your art? What do you get from it? What does it make you feel? What keeps you coming back?

As we explore these questions, you may begin to notice beliefs, expectations, or assumptions that influence the way you express yourself and make choices.

This is an opportunity to begin distinguishing between what genuinely feels like you and what you’ve learned you should be.

3Soil

Reflecting on Art

We’ll look at artists who use reflection and personal exploration as part of their creative process and consider what their approaches reveal to you.

We’ll then turn that lens toward your own practice. What thoughts arise when you create? What captures your attention? What surprises you? What keeps returning?

Together, we’ll explore what you notice when you give yourself meaningful time and space to create.

4Root

The Roots of Your Practice are Forming

Routine and consistency are what give your Creative Bloom room to grow.

We’ll look at what has worked for you so far and create a sustainable creative practice that fits your actual life—not an imaginary version of your life with unlimited time and energy.

Your creative practice is beginning to reveal new possibilities. Now we’ll explore how to trust those discoveries and begin bringing them into your everyday life.

5Grow

Allowing Your Magic to Grow

When I use the word “magic,” I don’t mean that you have to subscribe to a particular spiritual belief. I use it as a word for the energy, possibility, and sense of aliveness that can emerge when we begin expressing ourselves and trusting our own creative instinct. Creative expression can be a way back home to yourself.

Your creative practice may be revealing deeper desires and offering clues about what matters to you. We’ll notice and explore the thoughts and patterns that may be influencing the way you express yourself and the choices you make.

This is where we begin asking: What would happen if I trusted what I’m discovering?

6Open

Bud Stage to Opening Up

Your true colors are emerging through your art. Your creative practice is gaining momentum. The things you’ve been exploring are beginning to take shape, and your creative instincts are becoming easier to recognize and trust.

We’ll explore how these discoveries are influencing the way you see yourself, what you value, and what possibilities you can imagine for your life.

Your creativity isn’t something separate from who you are. It’s becoming another way of knowing yourself.

7Bloom

You’re in Full Bloom

We’ll reflect on what you’ve discovered throughout your Creative Bloom experience—your creative practices, insights, questions, desires, and the things that have begun to shift in how you see yourself.

Together, we’ll identify the practices you want to carry forward and create an actionable plan for continuing to nurture your creativity, confidence, self-expression, and sense of possibility beyond our sessions.

SOMEONE WHO HAS SEEN THE FULL BLOOM

J.J. is one of those few people that through every phase of life has been insightful and nonjudgmental. It was always impressive watching her navigate relationships with people whom most would’ve been quick to write off—yet, she was forgiving and understanding. Which isn’t to say she’s ever been a doormat. No, that is actually probably most impressive. Even with seemingly endless empathy, she still has her clear boundaries and is quick to stand up for herself and others. One thing I’ve been appreciating most lately is that when the world has told me to feel guilty and sacrifice myself for others, she is always direct and supportive, letting people around her know that their needs and feelings are valid and that they’re deserving of love and happiness, too.
