HOW I FOUND MY WAY TO CREATIVE BLOOM
I can tell you how every big life decision or transition led me to my Creative Bloom and ultimately – the happiest and most abundant period of my life.

The wanderlust I had all throughout my childhood began to shrink when I started my undergraduate degree. The confidence I had been developing as a young adult stopped developing, and anxiety and depression replaced my natural curiosity and excitement.
I thought“this is just how life is supposed to feel”.
I continued to shrink after graduation; navigating adulthood’s new expectations, relationships, and finally, by the end of my marriage in my early 30s, I was so small a close family member said I was unrecognizable. I was detached from my life; dreaming about a different self. One I thought I would never meet. The belief system I held told me she wasn’t unrealistic, I wasn’t worthy of being her, or having what she had. I thought I wasn’t allowed to have those things, or to want more for myself. That was a large chunk of time not prioritizing my most honest wants and desires – let alone find the time to take that pottery class I always wanted to try, or put my roller-skates on that had been sitting in the closet for at least 5 years!

My career was in public education and I was working 12 hour days. I completed my graduate degree when I was eight months pregnant, and my executive functioning was barely getting me through the day. Small tasks like going through the pharmacy window, (and grocery shopping, oof I dreaded this one every week!) felt insurmountable. I would daydream about the art projects I’d love to start, even though I couldn’t fathom where to begin.

My Inner Monologue and I kept going back and forth about art projects. What they would mean, why I wanted to make them; but then the Inner Monologue would interrupt, and remind me.
I’m too exhausted for one more thing on my plate.
Eventually, Inner Monologue led me directly to the germination of my Creative Bloom, and I began to challenge the ideas I had formed about who I was supposed to be. I shifted my belief system to one that actually supported my growth, happiness, and abundance.
That’s when my Bloom moved from something I was experiencing to something I could consciously nurture.
ROMANTICISM
Romanticism was a period of literature I discovered the beauty of when I was a student teacher for a high school Theatre/English Teacher. Romanticism was one of the units I taught and I fell in love with the flowery, elegant style of it all. They turned inward and into nature to inspire their poetry and prose.
“THAT WHICH IS CREATIVE MUST CREATE ITSELF.”
Their words followed me through my Bloom; block out the noise; shame, fear, stressors and come back to yourself; creativity, desires, and dreams that you deserve to experience now.
“WE FEEL THAT WE ARE GREATER THAN WE KNOW.”
WHAT A CREATIVITY EDUCATOR DOES
Not this:
Critiquing your art, color theory, teaching you how to use a particular medium.
This:
Guiding you through your own creative process, sharing practical strategies, helping you stay engaged, and exploring the truths that emerge through your creative expression.
Being a creativity educator isn't about teaching you how to paint, draw, or sculpt. It's about guiding you through your own creative process, sharing practical strategies to help you stay engaged in your creative practice, and exploring the truths that emerge through your creative expression.
As you develop a consistent practice, you'll begin to recognize patterns, uncover hidden desires, and discover deeper truths about yourself that can guide you toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.
